Matchbox M&M Fun for Fall

I made this little matchbox filled with Fall colored M&M's for my Big Shot Box class and it is just too cute. We made the bottom piece using Cajun Craze card stock, but the top was made using the Autumn Spice Textured paper that's in the Holiday Mini catalog. 

This Designer paper is great! It is thick, almost like card stock, and holds it's shape well.

Here's how I made this window matchbox:

After cutting the box top and bottom out, using Stampin' Up!s Exclusive Matchbox die by Sizzix, I pushed the small end of the top piece into my Extra Large Oval punch to make the window. I then took a piece of Window sheet (found on page 205 of the Idea Book & Catalog) and covered the window from underneath.

Next I stamped the word gratitude from the stamp set "Fabulous Phrases" and punched it out with my small Oval Punch. Make sure you punch with the word to the far right in order to leave room for the ribbon hole.

Layer this on an Old Olive Oval punch piece, mount the words on and punch a ribbon hole with your Crop-a-Dile.

Wrap a piece of Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around the box, tie it in a knot, and add the word piece using Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta ribbon.

Oh! And don't forget your M&M's!

Where do you get your Inspiration?

When I was deciding which card to do for one of my classes earlier this month, a friend called me and wanted to know where I get my Inspiration. I told her that it usually comes to me at 3 a.m. (seriously, that seems to be my time) but that she could get inspiration from the Idea Book & Catalog any time of the day, or night, as the case may be.

It was then that I decided to take a card that I had previously done and use it as Inspiration for my next class.

In January we made the card below using Black Staz On on a window sheet that covered a piece of the glittery Sending Love Designer paper. I added 2 silver brads and one of the new Sending Love Epoxy brads in Pretty in Pink to hold the window sheet in place. The new Small Heart punch was used, twice, in the corner and the new Gray Satin ribbon finished this card, which is made with Regal Rose card stock. I added a piece of Basic Gray card stock to the inside to make the two small hearts more visible.

Now for the Inspired card. . . .

Here I switched from Rose and Gray to Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip. I stamped directly onto the Designer Paper instead of a window sheet, changed the ribbon and the epoxy brad to Chocolate Chip and this time I punched my Small Hearts side by side and side not add another color underneath.

What a difference a color change makes!

Texturz Plates with Window Sheets

I just love the Printed Window Sheets and have had such fun with them, trying all sorts of things!

Here I used my Texturz swirl plate and my Big Shot with Pixie Pink card stock, layered the Printed Thank You sheet on it and attached it with Felt Fusion Flowers and Fire Rhinestones.

This is a close up of the felt flower and you can see how the Texturz swirls add another dimension to the card.

It's quick, it's easy and it's fun!

Luck Duck in a Window

Okay, I'm having so much fun with the Printed Window sheets that I just had to share two of my latest ideas with you.

I love this duck from the Wagon Full of Fun set and thought it would be fun to have him under the Polka Dot window.

Looks kinda like rain, don't you think?

I added two small Baja corduroy button to hold the window on one side, and the Saffron twill holds it on the other.  

Here's another card that I did using the pretty Raspberry Tart. I know it doesn't look like Raspberry Tart, that's because I used it "backwards" on the side without much raspberry.

For this card, I used one of the fabulous Printed Window sheets and added little Rose Red flowers using the Trio Flower punch.

Then I put on the little Pearls from the Pretties kit, tied Rose Red ribbon in a knot and added a Hat Pin with Pearls, also from the Pretties kit.

Pretty quick and easy. Ya gotta love that!
