Celebration Birthday Ideas

I had a class last month where we made lots of Birthday projects, all based around the fun Celebrations Designer Paper.

I made Celebrations Party Hats for my guests and had a Celebrations Party Banner hanging up too. Here are a few of my stampin' friends at one of my "parties".

Yep, they're wearing their party hats but haven't eaten those cupcakes. . . . . . yet!

Here are the 7 projects that they made that evening.

They made 4 cards, 2 for guys and a couple for the girls too

and a Birthday Surprise Box too

Now this was a little tricky to photograph, mind you.  It's quite long when you lay it out and too small to see well when I did it.  Anyhow, here it is!

Here it is when it's closed. It's a Stampin' Up storage container.

Happy Heart Day Banner

 

This is the Valentin e banner that we made at my Valentine class recently.

I used the Always and I Heart Hearts stamp sets along with the Fine Flourish stamp in this collage style project.

The letters were made with my Big Shot as were two of the Hearts in the center. One is the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, and for another I used the Finial Press Impressions Folder and then punched it out with the Full Heart Punch. See it close up below.

We added lots of goodies too! There is a Vintage Brad, Pearls, Buttons, a Rosette, a Vintage Flower, Trinket Key, and a few ribbons too.

Impressed Wedding card

Last week I had a wedding to go to and when it came down to it, I was out of time!

We had had a very busy weekend, bought the gift and wrapped it on Saturday, but on Sunday, when we arrived home from church at about 2:30, I realized that I had not yet made a card for the bride & groom and needed one. . . and quick!

After all, we had to change for the wedding and needed to leave by 3:00 in order to make it there on time. Yikes!

I had wrapped the gift in vanilla paper that had gold hearts and wording on it and, of course, wanted my card to coordinate with it.

So into my studio I went and came out a few minutes later with this card.

Literally a few minutes, it took me only 3 minutes to make this beautiful card.

Here's what I did, in quick, of course, order.

I embossed the words and punched them out with my circle punch.

I ran a piece of Very Vanilla card stock through my Big Shot with the Elegant Lines Impressions folder and mounted it to Gold card stock.

I tied a piece of Very Vanilla Satin ribbon around the top portion and mounted it to a Very Vanilla card base.

Next I mounted the word piece with Dimensionals, and added a little rhinestone on the ring for a little bling. . . and who doesn't like Bling?

Oh! and then I sprayed the entire piece with Gold Smooch Spritz!

Genna's Wedding update and another shower too

Sorry, but I still don't have hardly any extra minutes lately to post anything new, but decided to just take some this morning and post a few things to share with you.

My daughter Genna's wedding is just 3 extremely short weeks away!     

I am still trying to finish up adding beads and sequins to the bottom of her dress. I put the beads and sequins together with thread and have put tons on by putting the thread through the tulle and tying knots underneath. Yes, it's very tedious work, but that's what she wants, so that's what I do!

Next week I'll be finishing up her veil, and hopefully her shoes too.

Here are photos from the last Bridal Shower that you've all been waiting for.

My younger daughter Tessa, gave her big sister this shower with an animal print theme. I had to incorporate Stampin' Up in it somehow and think it turned out pretty good.

 

This is the outside of the Shower Invitation.

I used the Finial Press Impressions folder for the bottom of the dress and the top is made with the Full Heart punch and Shimmery Card stock. I had to add a rhinestone for Bling, of course, 'cause it's a "mom thing" as my girls call it.

Here's what it looks like from the inside. Genna's wedding colors are Tempting Turquoise (is there another?) and Gold, so I had to add those in too.

And here is the Thank You cards that Genna made for her shower gifts.

Genna used some animal print paper and the Flower Folds die with Zebra striped felt pieces for the focal. She added a Gold circle and Merci (she speaks French).

I think she did a great job, don't you?

Oh! and here are the favors that Tessa gave to everyone that night. They were filled with, what else?, animal crackers!

Again, we used the Flower Folds die with Zebra and Cheetah print felt and added a Jumbo Chocolate brad to the center.

We popped a hole with the Crop-a-Dile to attach then to these fab sparkly turquoise boxes that I found at Target a few months ago. 

Everyone loved them!

Genna's Bridal Shower

So many of you have asked to see my daughter Genna's shower invitation so here it is. This was Genna's first shower and when my sisters (who gave the shower for her) asked her questions about what she wanted, her face went HUH?

You see, Genna is just 20 years old and has never been to a Bridal Shower, so she had no idea what to expect! When I asked her what she thought about her invitations, she definitely knew what she didn't want. She didn't want anything flowery, or with umbrellas, or a "silly bride thing", she wanted something different.

After hearing this, my sisters went to a party store and chose something that was in Genna's wedding colors, out of the Hawaiian section no less. It was Tempting Turquoise (is there another?) and had what looked to them like rings intertwined with an edge of Green Galore (not a wedding color, but there was just a wee bit of it) and asked me to design an invitation around that.

Well, after seeing the plates they chose, I deliberated for days! I ended up using the Circle Circus set and adding in Gold, as Genna's wedding colors are Turquoise and Gold. After I designed it, I showed it to her and she loved it! Whew!

Here is the favor that I did for the shower. My daughter works at Wetzel Pretzel and my sisters made white chocolate covered pretzel and drizzled turquoise on them to put inside.

They were a hit!

And here is the Thank You that I designed for Genna, to coordinate with the invitation.

And, yes, all of the envelopes were done too! No Naked envelopes here!

Yes, it's a lot of embossing, but so has everything else been!

I asked Genna if I could post her Save the Dates, but so far it's a no.

Maybe after the wedding she'll change her mind?
