Owl Friendship card to share with Owl of you

This is one of the cards that I designed for my Over the Top Event this summer.

I am just i love with this Owl punch!

I also used the Scallop Trim Border punch (a lot!) and the Curly Label punch too!

These owl were punched from Early Espresso card stock and their "clothes" are made using the Subtles Designer paper pack, as was the bottom of the card.

The words are from the stamp set Perfect Punches stamp set and it fits, perfectly of course, into the Curly Label punch.

I added a bit of Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

Hope it inspires you to get out your Owl punch and play with them too!

Stenciled Frame, and then some!

Here is one of the 8 projects that were made at my Over the Top Event at Convention this year. I love making frames and stenciling is easy and fun to do. To begin this project, sponge Baja Breeze over the frame base, then you can start stenciling.

I used Early Espresso in the bottom corner with the Kind Thoughts Brocade stencil. In the upper corner, I used Crumb Cake ink with the Mostly Vintage stencil.

For the center of the frame, I added a piece of Elegant Soiree Designer Paper to a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and added a strip of Baja Breeze using the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  I used a stamp from the Word Play set, overlayed it with an image from Style Beautiful, added 3 Neutral brads and did a little paper piercing too.

After adding that piece to the center, I started on the bottom word piece. I again used a stamp from Word Play and overstamped with the Style Beautiful image. I mounted this onto another print of Elegant Soiree paper, used the Curly Label punch to the right and added a Build-a-Brad as an accent.

For the butterfly, I used the Beautiful Butterflies die and my Big Shot and cut out two butterflies. One with an Elegant Soiree print paper and the smaller with Baja Breeze card stock. I stamped over the little butterfly with Early Espresso and an image from the Style Beautiful set and adhered it on top of the larger butterfly. This was attached to the frame using a Stampin' Dimensional.

The flower in the upper corner is one of the new Paper Daisies. I used the large flower from the Boho Blossom punch in the center and added an Antique Brad, also new, to finish it off. Hope you like it!

Back from Convention and Sharing some Over the Top cards

It's been well over a month since I've returned from Stampin' Up's Convention and I still haven't had time to make all the things I saw.

Will I ever have that much time? I dunno!

Actually, I've been working hard on something for the past month that I'd like to share with you, . . . . . but not quite yet.

I hosted 2 Over the Top Events the day that Convention opened and they were great.

I invited 50 demonstrators who brought Over the Top swaps. Now these are not your ordinary swaps, they are truly Over the Top!

My theme this year was Christmas in July and I gave out Christmas goodies, had Christmas print table covers and had aprons made for my helpers that were Christmasy too, thanks to my BFF Sandy Holleman, who also takes care of registration and the card contest at my events.

I'd like to share the Over the Top card winners from the first event with you and you can see more of them in my photo album on the left side of this page.

Everyone in the event votes on 3 favorite cards and this year, for the first time, I had a tie in my first event and have 4 favorites to share with you.

This beautiful card is by CaroleAnn.  She did a fabulous job sponging color onto the Presto Patterns Paper and I just love her bow, don't you?

She fashioned the flowers out of card stock and added just the right touch by putting Jewels down the side.   Just fabulous!

This cute card was created by Laura Schmitt and it stars Totally Tess in her bakery!

Laura used the Polka Dot Impressions folder for the bottom portion as was as the top awning, which is made with the Word Window punch. Clever girl Laura!

Don't you just love the way she made a shelf for some of the goodies too?

I love this snowflake card by Cheryl LeFore. She used her Big Shot not only for the snowflakes, but for the background she used the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions folder.

Glitter just had to cover the snowflake and the tiny tag in the center is perfect.

Although you can't tell by the photo, the snowflakes on the upper part of the card are actually pop ups.

I love the way Cheryl used not only the snowflake die, but also the punch and cut down the larger snowflake to give them more dimension!

The snowflakes are all glittered up, just as they should be.

Wanda Clasen is the creator of this awesome card!Wanda must love to emboss because she's got a lot on this card, and remember, she had to make 50 of them!

The clock is embossed and "cracked" and even the background Square Lattice Impressions piece is embossed, as you can see below

OVER the TOP EVENT at Leadership

This January I hosted an Over the Top Event at Leadership

and, boy, did we have fun! 

The theme for this event was "You're a Star"

and everything was done with Silver & Gold Stars.

The night started with a fabulous dinner,

then it was on to stamp 8 projects.

During that time, we bagged up the Over the Top Swaps and,

WOW!, some of them were just amazing!

I also passed out lots of goodies and everyone

voted on their 3 favorite Over the Top swaps.

This is Vicki Ellis-Ehresman's fabulous Over the Top card

 

I couldn't believe the work and detail that Vicki put in to this card. Everything was cut perfectly, layered perfectly,  stamped perfectly. . . now that's what I call going Over the Top!

Vicki used the Finial Press Impressions Folder, the Scallop Edge and Corner punches, the Ticket corner punch, and that coloring! And to go even more Over the Top she even cut out the larger flower and covered them all with Crystal Effects!

Say Vicki, how long did they take? Wow! Thanks for going to all that work for us!

By the way, this is one of my customers favorites too!

Let's take a look at the card that took Laura Schmitt Over the Top!

Laura used so many things on this card, I just don't know where to start!

She used Designer Paper, the Big Shot Scallop die, Sweet Pea Felt, the Two-Step Bird punch, Glitter, the Scallop Edge Punch, an Impressions Folder, Satin Ribbon, and . . . whew!

Ya just gotta see it to believe it!

Sharon Field's card was fantastic and, when opened, the 2 hearts moved to the side.

Wow Sharon, you really out did your self!

Besides the fact that the card moved, Sharon used both the Scallop and Pinking Hearts edge and corner punches, perfectly I might add. She had 7 layers, Designer Paper, the Scalloped Heart of Heart Embosslit, and, among other things, one of my favs, the Very Vintage wheel.

And last, but not least, the Over the Top swap bags.

Sorry the photo isn't too clear, but they were metallic gold bags with gold and silver stars
