Spooky Sign

Here is a fun Halloween decoration that you can make in about 1/2 an hour. This is my Spooky sign that I designed for my Go Getter team last month.

I used the new Scallop Squares Bigz die with my Big Shot as the base pieces in Pumpkin Pie card stock. Then I layered on Nite Owl Designer paper pieces for the S, P, K, & Y.  For the "O's", I used Whisper White card stock which I put through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions folder. I then cut them in half and brayered them with Eggplant and Wasabi for the cool look below.

 

I used the 2 3/8" Circle Scallop punch in Eggplant for the letter base, I cut into it intermittently with my Crop-a-Dile to make it looks less scalloped. I also sponged the edges of them with Not Quite Navy.

The letters were cut out with the Simple Alphabet die and I added a few Black Flourish Jewels and ribbons and bat to finish the sign.

What's on your front door for Halloween?

Something to scare those Trick or Treaters away?

How about putting something nice, sort of, for the adults to check out this year?

The kids are only interested in the candy anyway, don't you think?

And maybe if your door wasn't so darn scary the kids would be comin' to you lookin' all cute rather than with frightened faces!

How about putting this Boo sign out this year?

It's easier than it look and a lot of fun to put together too!

I used my Big Shot and the Top Note die for the base.

The background are piece of the Wicked Fun paper, ya gotta love all the prints!

The center piece is the new 2 1/2" Circle punch in the Holiday Mini, with a Scallop Circle punch in Certainly Celery that I nipped a bit for fun.

I used Razzleberry card stock with my Serif Essentials Alphabet die for the letters and then added this and that, like Glimmer Brads, Raven Lace, Ribbons and punched out Bats too.

To tie it all together, I used Jumbo Eyelets with Razzleberry Satin ribbon.

Hmmm, maybe I'll make a wreath this weekend and attach mine to that.

Then I can add ribbons and more punched bats to it and . . . .

 

Oddly BeWitching ~ My Spider Web Witch

Okay, so I took a little artistic license and am calling this a witch,

but can you see her?

I designed this card for my Fall Holiday Card class last month and they had lots of fun with it. I use a spider web for her "body", with a Glimmer Brad for bling, a bat punch piece with her hat, and the boots, they're a little obvious, don't you think?

Go ahead, Have Fun, after all, it's Halloween and anything goes!

Glitter Embossed Beautiful Bat

I love glitter, or anything with bling, and thought that this fabulous artsy bat could definitely use some. I used the Glitter Emboss technique with my Supernova Fine Glitter and Clear Emboss powder and added more texture with my Spider Web Impressing Embossing Folder and Raven Lace Trim.

Little Witch with Mosaic Glitter technique

She's back! The little Fang-Tastic Witch looks great in just about any color and with any technique. This time I decided to go bold with the fun checkerboard print from the Nite Owl Designer Paper pack as a background and used two other prints for the mosaic accent.

If you've never done this technique, I'd highly suggest it. It's fun!

All you do is cut up little pieces of paper, add then to a sticky page piece and then pour on the glitter. Complete tutorial coming soon!

My Little Green Witch

Here I go again with the Fang-Tastic stamp set, this time with the little witch image.

I made a trifold card with Basic Black card stock and used the Nite Owl Designer Paper as my background. After coloring my focal piece, I added a bit of Raven Lace Trim and 2 Black Flourish Jewels to finish it off. Super simple, but lots of fun!

Fang-Tastic Guy with Black Pearl Technique

I know you've heard it, but I just love this Fang-Tastic set!

It's just so cutesy and fun and not at all scary and there are just so many ways you can stamp with it.

Here is my Fang-Guy with the Black Pearl technique.

What's the Black Pearl technique you ask? It's easy!

Here's all you'll need:

a piece of Glossy White card stock

White Shimmer Paint

Basic Black Classic pad

a Stampin' Sponge

a tissue and some plastic wrap

First, tear off a piece of plastic wrap and scrunch it up. Now dab it into a little bit of the White Shimmer Paint and dab it randomly over the Glossy card stock.

You don't cover the entire piece, but do dab generously. Now let it dry, just a minute or so.

When it's dry, take your Stampin' Sponge and ink it up with the Basic Black ink and run it over the glossy/shimmered card stock. I suggest going in circular motions to get the best coverage. When you've covered it to your liking, gently wipe the excess ink off with a tissue and your ready to go!

Pretty cool huh?

Haunted Luminary with Fancy Favor box

Yesterday I had the pleasure of stamping with a few of my friends and I brought a few Halloween projects for them to make.

Halloween Treat Bucket

This is the Treat bucket that I designed for my Go Getters workshop this week.

What are Go Getters?

Those are the ladies on my Blingin' Bee Stampin' Team that have gone above and beyond in their businesses. To congratulate them on their success, I cook dinner, yes me, and design projects that I don't use anywhere else.

I got these great buckets Free (my favorite price!) from a dear friend of mine, Judy Westcott. Thanks Bunches Judy!

I decided to put them to good use right away and, since I have my Go Getters workshop coming up, thought it would make a perfect Halloween project.

I used the wonderful polka dot flocked paper from my Wicked Fun Specialty pack and wrapped it around the bucket using Sticky Strip.

Then I put another line of Sticky Strip at the bottom edge of the paper and used Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, ruffling it as I went around the bucket.

I cut a 4" piece of Old Olive wide Striped ribbon and cut the ends to make it look more "Halloweeny" (my word, I use it every year around this time)

To make the focal piece, I took out my Spooky Night Rub Ons and found that the large word image, Witch's Brew, fit perfectly on a circle punched out of Pumpkin Pie card stock with my new 2 1/2" Circle Punch. WooHoo!

I sponged the edges of the circle piece after I rubbed on my words and then said to myself, Oh! there's a skull on it, ew.

Now, here's the thing, I don't like skulls. I know, I know, lots of you do, but it's just not my thing, usually.** You can't see the skull on my focal piece, 'cause I covered it up. Yep! I took a 1" Circle of Pear Pizzazz and rubbed on another image from my Spooky Night Rub On package, the "OCT 31" piece.

** Here is one occasion where I did use a skull. I love the artsy look of this skull from the stamp set From the Crypt and you'll see more of it soon.

Glowing Pumpkins with Waffle Paper Stems

Did you know you can glow your pumpkins so they shine in the night with Shimmer paint? It's so easy!

And after playing around a bit, I found that the new Waffle Paper makes great pumpkin stems!

Here is my Glowing Pumpkins card and I hope that you like it.

  Using the pumpkins from the Autumn Harvest stamp set, I used Cherry Cobbler ink on Pumpkin Pie card stock, cut them out and mounted them on a Confetti White card base. The words Happy Halloween are also stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

To make the pumpkins stems, I cut off a piece of Early Espresso Waffle Paper about 3" x 2  1/2". Twist both ends of it as shown below, cut just below the twist part, and adhere the twisted end under your pumpkin. This is a great way to add loads of texture and it makes your pumpkins smile too!

      Now to get your pumpkins glowing! I used a foam brush with just a little bit of Champagne Mist Shimmer paint and painted over the Jack "o Lantern faces. It just takes a moment to dry and then they'll be glowing! Such Fun!

Got Treats for Halloween

At my Big Shot Box class last week, we made these cute treats with the Candy Wrapper die that just came out in the Holiday Mini catalog. Is a little tricky to get the ends to twist right, but it's worth it.

Here I used the pumpkin from the Got Treats stamp set and stamped him in Cajun Craze. I punched him out and edged it with Basic Black and of course he needed wiggly eyes!

The Candy Wrapper box was cut out with Rich Razzleberry card stock and I wrapped a strip of Wicked Fun paper around it. Tie a piece of Pear Pizzazz ribbon around the box, add the tag with Linen Thread and you're done!

Can't wait to pass these out to the kiddies!

What's inside? Chocolate eyeball treats!

 

Fang-Tastic Treat box

I had a Big Shot Box class last Friday and we made one of each of the 6 Big Shot boxes for three different holidays. Here is the one that we made with the Box #2 die for Halloween. I also used the Spider Web Impressions Folder and, of course, the Fang-Tastic stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog.

Fang-Tasticly Fun Stamp Set!

Love, Love, Love this fun Halloween set that just came out in the Holiday Mini catalog! I've had my Holiday Mini order sitting here, unopened, since the beginning of August, and just let myself open it this morning.

I know, you're thinking, "yeah right, how could you NOT open it!?!"

Easy, I've been working on something for the entire month and now that it's almost finished, I let myself into that dang box!

That, and I have two Holiday Big Shot Box classes tomorrow and had to have some of the new stuff to use! (I'll post my box ideas soon)

Anyhow . . . here's my first card using the too cute Fang-Tastic stamp set.

I also used the new Spider Web Impressions Folder and the Nite Owl paper too!

How's I do the web? Easy, after Impressing the Basic Gray card stock, I gently rubbed my Basic Black pad over the web. Cool huh?

And the tag? Easy too! I stamped the words on Pumpkin Pie card stock and punched it out with my Oval punch. Then I used my Designer Label punch with both Elegant Eggplant and Certainly Celery card stocks. Adhere the oval to the Eggplant punch piece, cut the Celery one in half and place them at the top and bottom of the Eggplant piece. Add your cute little bat and you're done!

The vampire guy is stamped on Certainly Celery card stock 'cause I wanted his skin a little 'pekid' looking. Then I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color his outfit, cutting him out leaving just a tad of the Celery to make him pop off the page, and the Stampin' Dimensionals helped too!

Oh, and the inside too!

Happy Halloween Banner

I just love the Night & Day Designer paper from the Holiday Mini and couldn't wait to play with it. I have more ideas on my work table and will share them soon.

This is the Halloween banner that I made for my Halloween class earlier this month. We used Basic Black card stock as the base, added the squares of Night & Day and then added the letters using my Big Shot. I added ribbons and Green Galore Brads to finish it off.

Halloween Shaker Treat

I just love using the Treat Cups that are in the Holiday Mini catalog and knew they would work perfectly for a shaker.

Here I used the Fancy Favor box with my Big Shot to make the treat box.

I added the Sweet Centers image, put some Boo and Bat confetti on it and attached a Treat Cup. WhaLa!

That was easy!

Here is a close up of the shaker cup. 

This is such a simple shaker to make!

I could have put in plastic spiders, or candy, but hey! I had the confetti right here and think it worked wonderfully.

Yes, I know, one of the "boos" is stuck under the rim of the treat cup. I did get it out after I took this photo, but wanted to let you know that you should watch out for that sort of thing if you choose to do something like this.

Wiggle Eyes Wanted

I just love to use "wiggly eyes" on my cards and some stamps just call out for them!

Here is one of the cards that we made at my Halloween class Friday night.

We used the Batty for You images and these two guys, or girls, asked for wiggly eyes so I gave them to them.

I used the Cast-a-Spell Designer paper with Olive and Pumpkin ribbons.

This was such a quick and easy card to do, unlike some of my other projects that night!

Happy Pumpkins

I love the new Pumpkin Patch set 'cause the pumpkins faces all have smiles! It makes it even more fun that the pumpkins are striped and polka dotted too!

I used a piece of Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper for the background, stamped my row of pumpkins and layered them onto a strip of Perfect Plum card stock. I rubbed on on the words, (see close up below), added ribbons and it's ready to go!

This card was pretty quick and easy to put together and is ready to make someone smile when they get it in the mail.

Don't be afraid to use your Rub Ons over printed paper, especially the White one.

It looks great, don't you think?

 

And, of course, I had to do the inside too!

I added a strip of Designer Paper, stamped a smiling pumpkin in the corner, added my words and that was it.

The words are stamped and punched using the Modern Label punch and layered onto a Large Oval Punched piece.

 

Halloween Treat ideas

I wanted to share some of the great ideas that some of my Stampin' Team members brought to our meeting for inspiration.

This was a last minute challenge that I put out to them, just days before the meeting, but they came through.

I realize that I am missing one, and will try to post that one soon. Need to find and photo it first.

These two treat ideas use the Big Shot with different dies but both used the Scallop Circle punch and Designer Paper.

This chocolate bar treat was made by Sandy Holleman and I think it's such a great idea.

Sandy used the Two Tags die with the Night & Day Designer Paper a slipped a mini chocolate bar inside.

The stamp is from the Batty for You stamp set, layered onto a Scallop Circle punched piece and did you notice the wiggly eyes on the bat? Too cute!

 

 Here's a fun treat by Connie Duffy. 

For her treat, Connie used the Bag with Scallops die using card stock, but cover the front with Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper.

She stamped the skull from the set, From the Crypt, popped him on a Scallop Circle and added wiggly eyes too! Gotta love it!

Haunted House

I really like working with the House of Haunts stamp set because it lends itself to so many techniques.

I've bleached it, brayered over it, stamped it in soot, stippled, and more. For this card, I embossed it in Black and made it stand out against the Pumpkin Pie card stock.

I used Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper for the background, added Black Stripe Ribbon for texture and used a Spooky Treats Rub On too.

The bats flying around the house?

Don't laugh, but I overinked and rocked my stamp, purposely, and ended up with the bats! 

And of course, I always love to design the inside of my cards to bring the outside in, and this one is mo exception.

Here's what I did on the inside.

The crow is sitting on a strip of Designer Paper and is a Rub On himself. The words are stamped crooked, 'cause it's Halloween and nothing should be normal, should it?

My Fashionable Halloween Treat Bag

I don't want to run around with a plastic pumpkin, pillowcase, or some other unfashionable "purse", so I designed this one for my Designing Women class.

Here's my version of a Treat bag just for us ladies to gather our chocolate in.

I bought the bag at a local store and then went to work. I loved that the bag happened to be Perfect Plum because we were using the Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper and I, of course, wanted my bag to match.

Do you ever notice how many things come in Stampin' Up's colors?

I wheeled the Old Olive card stock piece with the Web Wheel, layered two prints of the Designer Paper. I added one of the Spooky Treats Rub Ons and spelled out Treats using my Big Shot and Naturally Serif Alphabet die. (see close up below)

The Skeleton is from the Scary Skeleton set but he doesn't look scary to me, he looks like he's always dancing!

The Trick or Treat wording is from Grateful Greetings in the Holiday Mini.

I added the 1 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Striped ribbon and cut the bag for a funky Halloweeny look and I'm ready to go!

I wanted to use the little alphabet on my bag, but didn't want to add it "normally".

So I put two strips of Sticky Strip across the Designer Paper, pressed on my letters, then added Dazzling Diamond Glitter.

Ya just gotta have Bling!
