I find myself in need for guy's cards quite often and love using my Totally Tool stamp set. I think all guy's can relate to tools, even if they don't know how to use them . . . . and they definitely aren't as fun as ours!
I like taking some of my cards and adding to them once in a while, you know, kind of changing it up a bit to see what else it can be.
Here is a card I made recently for a Game Spinner swap. In case you've already seen it, I changed it up a bit by adding the distressing and a couple of eyelets in the corner, just for fun.
These tool images all have words under them and I love using the Direct to Stamp technique by inking the tool with my Stampin' Write Markers. Here is stamped the tools randomly in Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip and More Mustard.
For the Riding Hood Red strip in the middle, I used my Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. I also used a few circle punches and the Designer Lable punch, and my Paper Piercing Tool too.
The distressing around the edges was done my simply taking my card to the Chocolate Chip stamp pad. I also did this on the word piece.
Add a Game Spinner Hand and the Eyelets, guy's like metal on their cards, did ya know that? Those are always the favorites with my husband, anything with metal.
Like this one . . . .
Here I used the Celebrations Designer Paper. This card was created for my Birthday Bash class last month. (More on that tomorrow)
I again used my Square Lattice Impressions Folder with my Big Shot, this time with Real Red card stock for the bottom of this pocket card.
I stamped with Real Red, Old Olive and Bashful Blue, the same colors that are in the Celebrations paper.
The Metal pieces are Silver Jumbo brads, Eyelets, regular brads and a clip.
For the insert pull up, I used 2 Old Olive ovals, punches using my small oval punch, and taped the bottom half to the card front and back. Add a silver brad and it's done.
To make this pocket card, take a piece of 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cards stock, here I used Old Olive. Score it at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2". Fold it up at the 5 1/2" score and then down at the 2 1/2" score.
Make sure you add adhesive to the sides so that your insert doesn't fall out. This style also makes a great pocket for gift cards too.
Please let me know if you're inspired for your next guy card!
