Easter Chick All Dressed Up

A few days ago I decided to check out some of the stamping challenges that are out there and this one is from Creative Sketches. It is their Sketch for Holidays and I thought, hmmmm, holiday? Which one is coming up next? Oh! Easter!

So I got out my A Good Egg stamp set and decided to use the cute chick. Of course, she had to be dressed in a cute print didn't she?

Then it hit me! Now, I'm not into the Build a Bear stuff (sorry, but it's true), but I do like the Pawsitively Prints paper that Stampin' Up has, and since they're little prints I thought it would be perfect for this chick's eggshell.

What do you think?!?

So here's what I used:

Stamp set: A Good Egg

Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery

Designer Paper: Build a Bear Pawsitively Prints

Ink: Basic Gray

Big Shot:Scallop Circle #2 die and Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder

Punches: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle and Word Window

Embellishments: Poppy Parade ribbon, Linen Thread & Daffodil Delight Button

Blossom Petal Punch Flower in Polka Dots

I designed this basket for my Stamp Club last month and they loved it.

I used the new Blossom Petal Punch from the Occasions Mini catalog and punched out my pieces with Daffodil Delight card stock. After punching them out, I laid them on my Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and put it through my Big Shot for tons of texture.

I sponged the edges of all of the petals with Tangerine Tango ink and curled them using my Bone Folder. Do this gently so that you do not ruin the polka dots.

I used my Big Shot with the Fancy Favor die for the basket and also impressed it with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

For the center of the flower I used one of my Sweet Stitches Big Designer Button in Chocolate Chip and added a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta ribbon to it.

The word image is from the new set, Bring on the Cake, in the Occasions Mini and I punched it using my Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches.

I think this will make a great Easter basket, don't you?

My Easter Treat Purses

 

For Easter, I wanted to use my Big Shot and make some treat packets for my family and here's what I did.

For my two nieces I wanted something cute, and thought that a Top Note purse would fit the bill.

I used Designer Paper to match their style (discontinued unfortunately) and added their initial on the flap with a Lots of Letters chipboard piece.



I used a little white lunch bag to put their treats in as shown on this side view.

They were super quick and easy to assemble and I hope you like them!

Tip: Adhere the Designer Paper to coordinating card stock before putting it through the Big Shot and you'll be ready to assemble in minutes!

My Big Shot Scallop Easter card

Here is one of the Easter cards that we made at my Easter class this past Saturday. I used the Sizzix Scallop Die for card by placing the fold of the card stock just under the scallop. I also used the Scallop 2 die for the stamped pieces both inside and out.

This is the new set, An Egg-cellent Easter, that you can buy NOW. It's coming out in the Occasions Mini catalog that starts April 1st, but yes, it's available right now.
It's a great 6 piece set and I used 4 of them on this card and envelope.

These bunnies were stamped with Basic Brown ink and colored using the Close to Cocoa Watercolor Wonder Crayon. I also used the Bordering Blue Crayon for the highlighting around the bunnies on both the card and the envelope. Use your Aquapainter to blend the colors for this soft look.

The Easter eggs and clothing, and the Chick inside, (see below) were colored using Stampin' Write Markers in Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana, and Certainly Celery.

The words were stamped and then punched with the Small Oval Punch and was layered on a Pretty in Pink oval made with the Large Oval Punch.

Ya gotta love Stampin' Up for designing punches that make layering this easy!
