Piled High Ice Cream Wishes

Big Wishes are coming your way with this fun punch card.

I used 5 punches, 2 Designer Papers, a stamp set, and a bit of ribbon to make this card last month when I had a bunch of friends having birthdays.

I paired Pink Pirouette with Soft Suede, adding Real Red for the word and cherry, natch.

The punches are the new Lace Ribbon Border and Petite Pennants Builder, along with the Cupcake Builder and 2 Circle punches.

The stamp set is Pennant Parade and the ribbon is Pink Pirouette Taffeta.

Hmmmm, I've got kids cards to make this month, maybe I'll try this in different colors!

It's an Elebration!

Okay, so you've just gotta love this cute little elephant guy. Don't you?!?

This is a single stamp called ELEBRATION that came out in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog this summer and I just think he's too cute!

For this card I used the Just Add Cake Designer Paper for my background and added a few ribbons here and a few brads there too. I used the Petite Pairs word set with the Curly Label punch for my Happy Brithday greeting.

To color the Elephant, you can use whatever you'd like ~ Watercolor Pencils, Markers, Pastels or my fav, Watercolor Crayons. Just remember to have fun!

 

Pennant Parade for Christmas ~

 
Here is an idea using the Pennant Parade stamp set with the Pennant punch that would be a quick and easy Christmas card to get started on, . . . 'cause you know Christmas is just around the corner when school starts, don't ya?!?

 

I used lots of New goodies on this card, and by New I mean fun stuff that came out in the New Idea Book & Catalog in July. Here's what I used:

The New Pennant Parade stamp set

The New Petite Pennant Punch

The New Letters to Santa designer paper

The New In Color Polka Dot brads

The New Scallop Dots Ribbon

That's a whole lotta New, don't ya think?

I also used one of the new In Colors, Lucky Limeade, for the trees and the brad.

Sailing Away into the Sun ~

Here is yet another card that I made for my husband's friends who are retiring this summer. I used the Sail Away stamp and the Nautical Expedition Designer paper for the background.

Here's how I did it ~

First I made the sun using my 2 1/2" Circle punch and a piece of Whisper White card stock, which I sponged with Daffodil Delight & Tangerine Tango. Then I mounted the sun on another piece of White card stock and stamp the sailboat image with Not Quite Navy on top of it, making sure the sailboat was down in the right corner, not on the sun.

Next, I stamped another sailboat, and cut out just the sails and the boat bottom and mounted them over the first one. Make sure that you put a Dimensional under the sail on the left to make it looks as though it flying in the wind.

Next I mounted a piece of the Nautical Expedition paper onto my card base, mounted the sailboat piece onto Not Quite Navy, distressed the edges and mount the entire piece onto the Nautical paper.

To finish the card, I stamped Happy Retirement from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched it out with the Modern Label punch. I used another Modern Label piece in Daffodil Delight, cut it in half and mounted it on either end. I added Night of Navy brads and mounted it to the card with Dimensionals.

Impressive Flower Garden

I love using Vellum paper with the Impressions Folders, but this one takes to it so well!

This is the new Flower Garden Impressions Folder that's in the Summer Mini and all I did was run it through my Big Shot, turn it upside down, and colored it in using Daubers and ink pads.

Yes! It's that simple!

For this card, I used Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait card stock and backed the vellum piece with some of the In Colors Designer Paper, this one in Peach Parfait.

I did the rushing technique with the Old Olive Satin ribbon for extra punch.

Pretty card, and pretty easy too! Try it!

Sailing Away for Retirement ~

My husband needed a few cards for some guys who are retiring this month and this is one of the cards that I made using the Sail Away stamp.

To start with, I used a piece of the Nautical Expedition Designer paper with a lighthouse and part of a map on it and stamped the sailboat in Early Espresso.

I stamped the sailboat again onto Whisper White card stock, and cut out the sails and mounted them over the stamped image. I stamped, cut and mounted the boat too, this time on Soft Suede card stock.

To make it look as though the wind is in the sails, I used a Dimensional under the sail on the left side to make it pop out a bit.

The word image is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes and I punched it out with my Word Window punch, layering it on an Early Espresso Large Oval punch piece.

To add more texture, I wrapped some Baker's Twine around the card a few times and tied it in a knot.

To make this card I used my Beyond the Garden Designer Paper and embossed it with my Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder.

The butterfly is stamped with Perfect Plum ink and I've added a few Ice Circle Rhinestones to add a little Bling!

The ribbon is Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding and I used a Paper Daisy, with another Rhinestone, to finish it off.

Flip Flops, a bit out of the box ~

Okay, so I wanted to create a few new cards using the Sunny Fun stamp set from the Summer Mini and when it came to the Flip Flop image, I knew I wanted to do something that wasn't as summery as you'd expect.

So . . . . .

I used a very flowery background using the Paisley Petals Designer Paper, some perhaps unusual colors and added a partial image from the Happy Greetings Summer Mini stamp set too!

The word piece actually says 3 things, Way to Go, Congrats, and Well Done, and I felt like the Way to Go would work here so I colored it with my Elegant Eggplant marker directly onto the stamp and pressed it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I then used just half of the Decorative Label punch to punch it out and layered it on another half punched out of More Mustard card stock.

Ya just gotta love that punch!

Sail Away to your Dreams!

I love using this single stamp, Sail Away, that's in the Summer Mini. It's more versatile that I originally thought and I sat down yesterday and made 3 cards. Here's the first one ~

I used my Sail Away stamp and stamped directly onto a piece of the Nautical Expedition Designer Paper. I then stamped it onto another print of the paper, with Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso stripes, and cut out the sails. When I adhered it over the stamped image I used Stampin' Dimensionals on the right sail to give it more depth and it looks like it flying in the wind. Doesn't it?

I stamped the bottom boat image again with Early Espresso, cut it out and mounted it too.

For the word piece, I used my Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler markers and colored directly onto the stamp and then pressed it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Add a few Crumb Cake brads and a punched steering wheel piece and that's it!

 

Double Embossing with Flower Fest

Here is something that's fun to do that I showed my ladies at my Technique class last week.

It's double embossing ~ you emboss your image and then emboss it again!

Way fun!

Here's what I did ~

I used the large image from the Flower Fest set from the Summer Mini and embossed it with Tangerine Tango emboss powder.

After letting the piece cool, I punched it out with my Scallop Circle punch ~ so glad that I didn't have to hand cut it!  

I then pressed it into my Versamark pad, poured on Iridescent Ice Embossing powder and embossed it again.

Doily Triple Punch Idea

The Doily Triple Layer Punches in the Summer Mini are way fun to use!

There are 3 different levels in the punch and they punch out different pieces depending on where you put the tab.

Here I used Pacific Point and Vellum card stock to punch out my Doilies and added a Rhinestone Brad to the centers for a little Bling.

The paper is from the Beyond the Garden pack that's in the Summer Mini and I paired it with Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi card stock.

I trimmed both edges of the Pacific piece that's backing the paper by using my Eyelet Border Punch.

Flower Garden in Plum with Pearls

Last week I had my monthly Technique class and decided to show two very different types of embossing ~ Heat Embossing and Dry Embossing.

I showed 2 ways with the new Flower Garden Impressions Embossing Folder and 2 ways with the new Colored Emboss Powders.

This technique is super simple and can be done with Designer Paper or Card Stock, here I used the Perfect Plum Designer paper.

To do this technique, put the Plum paper into your Flower Garden Impressions Embossing Folder and put it through your Big Shot.

Lay it flat on the table and use your Sanding Block to sand off the color on the embossed image. I added Pearls to my flowers and used the Scallop Trim Border Punch with some Organdy Ribbon to finish it off.

Try it! It's easy and quick too!

Simple Friendship Blinged out Butterfly

If you know me, you know I like Bling, . . . even before it was "popular".

I can't help it, I just like shiny things, like Rhinestones and Pearls, for instance.

I was stamping a little bit ago and found myself looking at one of my favorite Designer papers, Lap of Luxury, (kinda sounds like something I'd like, don't ya think?) and wanted to create something with one of the sets that are on sale at 30% off this month, (that's only $18.17 for this fabulous 7 piece set!) and decided on the Simple Friendship set.

Here's how I made it~ yep! there are a lot of steps to this one!

To begin my idea, I stamped the butterfly in Concord Crush on a piece of Glossy card stock and cut it out. Then I mounted a piece of Lap of Luxury Designer paper onto Blushing Bride card stock and then onto a Concord Crush base.

I picked up a piece of Vellum and stamped True Friend all over it in Concord and then torn part of it off to let some of the print paper show through. 

I cut a strip of Blushing Bride card stock and used my Scallop Trim Border punch on both sides and mounted a strip of Concord in the center of it. then came the Bling!

I used a strip of Rhinestones along the entire strip and added it to my card.

I stamped "You're a Gem" from OOPS! the Occasions Mini (guess I better put that set away and pray it makes it into the new catalog, huh?) and punched it out with my Large Oval punch. I layered that onto a Blushing Bride Scallop Oval piece and mounted it with Dimensionals onto a Concord Crush Wide Oval Punch piece.

and added more Bling!

Something's missing, I thought, and decided to add the wording piece underneath the vellum, which I sponged to make it pop.

To finish my idea, I Blinged my butterfly and mounted her on the card.

Fun Flower Embossed Tote

Here is the tote that we made at my Embedded Embossing class 2 weeks ago.

I used the Petals a Plenty Impressions Embossing Folder and embedded the Fun Flower pieces into it. I also used the Square Scallop die with my Big Shot too!

I know, I know, I used the Springtime Vintage paper from the Occasions and it's not available any more. I loved it so much I bought several packs and I still have a couple upopened ones around, and remember, I did this at the end of April when it was available.

I also used the Sew Suite Buttons (not available) and the Fun Flower die (still available) from the Occasions Mini.

To make the front of the tote, I cut the Square Scallop Clear die out of Melon Mambo card stock first.

Then I cut out the Fun Flower with Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink, using just 1 flower from each color. I punched the "leaves" using my Large Oval punch and taped my flower together. After that was done, I taped it on to my Vintage paper and put the whole thing through my Big Shot with the Petals a Plenty Impressions Folder.

Next, mount it to the Square Scallop, add a third flower, curled up with a Bone Folder, and add a Sew Suite Button with Pretty in Pink 1/8" Taffeta for the center.

Way cute and fun too!

Ties for the Best Dad Ever!

My guy wears ties a couple of times a week and my daughters are always picking out the "wild" ones in his opinion. They like the bright colors and fun prints, but something tells me he'd rather have some ties that are a little more conservative. NOT!

Anyway, when I saw the stamps in the Summer Mini, I just knew I had to have the Best Dad Ever set with these fun ties!~

I used a piece of the Nautical Expedition Designer paper for the background, looks kinda like a shirt ~ doesn't it? There's another print you can use too!

I colored my, or his, ties with my Stampin' Write Markers in Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake, coloring directly onto the ties.

Fun card for Father's Day, his Birthday. . .  or just to say Thanks!

Fabulous Florets Embossed

Here is a card I designed using the new Colored Embossing powders in Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi with the Fabulous Florets stamp set.

To make this card, I chose some of the Beyond the Garden Designer paper and layered a strip down the left side of the card. I also used a small piece of it and stamped the floret with my Versamark pad and poured Tangerine Tango powder on it and embossed it.

I like embossing "open" stamp images on Desinger paper, don't you?

Beyond the Garden Doilies

Just lovin' the Beyond the Garden Designer paper from the Summer Mini and just had to use the new Doily Triple Layer punch with it.

I punched the Doilies out of Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Vellum card stock, layered them on to each other and added Rhinestone Brads for the centers.

The word image is from the stamp set Happy Greetings and I use my Designer Label punch on the left side of the word piece. A little stampin' and spongin' and you're good to go!

Embedded Butterflies

I love this Embedded Embossing technique and had a class a couple of weeks ago where we made a cute tote and 4 cards.

I'll be posting more in the next few days, but my time is extremely limited lately, but I'll soon get back to "normal" . . . whatever that is!

Most of the Embedded ideas I have seen have been done with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder, but I happen to like using the Vintage Wallpaper Folder.

To make this card, I used the Paisley Petals paper and my Beautiful Butterflies die, cutting out just the 2 single butterflies. I then taped them onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Embossing Folder.

I then used the same paper with my Beautiful Wings Embosslit, which is great! It cuts and embosses at the same time! I adhered the little butterflies on the card and of course, just HAD to add Pearls to everyone's bodies, didn't I?

To finish it off, I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, mounted it to a Cherry Cobbler quarter piece and added it to my Pacific Point card base and WhaLa! It's ready to pop in the mail!

Sail Away in Espresso and Marina

Here is another card I created using the fun Sail Away stamp from the Summer Mini. This is a single stamp and is just perfect for so many things, . . . like guys, and traveling.

I used the Nautical Expedition Designer Paper, and cut it in strips and then flipped every other one over. I call this technique the Strip and Flip technique.

After I cut the strips, I mounted them onto a piece of Marina Mist card stock leaving just a bit of space in between each one. Then I wrapped some of the new Espresso Baker's Twine around a couple of times and tied it in a knot.

Don't be afraid of color ~ Go Bold with the Paisley Petals paper

This Paisley Petals print is another favorite of mine. I love the boldness of the colors and the largeness (is that even a word?) of the print.

I created this card for my friend Ruth's swap last week. The theme of the swap was to use the Clearly for You stamp set and I just had to incorporate the Paisley Petals paper too.

I went bold with colors using Pacific Point, Peach Parfait, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler.

What all did I use?

I used the Paisley Petals paper, that's the strip on the left side

I used my Big Shot with the Tulip Impressions Folder on the right side

The Cleary for You stamp set from the Occasions Mini

Peach Parfait and Cherry Cobbler ribbons

Lots of punches, Scallop Trim Border, Scallop Oval, Large and Small Ovals

and don't forget the Pearls! Ya gotta have 'em!
