Stenciled Frame, and then some!

Here is one of the 8 projects that were made at my Over the Top Event at Convention this year. I love making frames and stenciling is easy and fun to do. To begin this project, sponge Baja Breeze over the frame base, then you can start stenciling.

I used Early Espresso in the bottom corner with the Kind Thoughts Brocade stencil. In the upper corner, I used Crumb Cake ink with the Mostly Vintage stencil.

For the center of the frame, I added a piece of Elegant Soiree Designer Paper to a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and added a strip of Baja Breeze using the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  I used a stamp from the Word Play set, overlayed it with an image from Style Beautiful, added 3 Neutral brads and did a little paper piercing too.

After adding that piece to the center, I started on the bottom word piece. I again used a stamp from Word Play and overstamped with the Style Beautiful image. I mounted this onto another print of Elegant Soiree paper, used the Curly Label punch to the right and added a Build-a-Brad as an accent.

For the butterfly, I used the Beautiful Butterflies die and my Big Shot and cut out two butterflies. One with an Elegant Soiree print paper and the smaller with Baja Breeze card stock. I stamped over the little butterfly with Early Espresso and an image from the Style Beautiful set and adhered it on top of the larger butterfly. This was attached to the frame using a Stampin' Dimensional.

The flower in the upper corner is one of the new Paper Daisies. I used the large flower from the Boho Blossom punch in the center and added an Antique Brad, also new, to finish it off. Hope you like it!

Kind Thoughts Stenciled card

One of my favorite stencils has got to be Kind Thoughts.

Here is a card that we made at my Technique Club earlier this month where I stenciled over the Bella Bleu Designer paper for a fabulous look.

Lovin' the Stencils!

I really like to stencil and have been having lots of fun with the new ones that came out in January.

Here is another card that I created for my Technique Club this month.

I used Regal Rose to stencil the flower and then pressed Versamark ink along the edges and embossed it with Gold.

The Bella Toile background stamp was used along with words from Friends 24-7 and for accents, I chose a Chocolate corduroy brad and a Mini Library Clip.

Decor Stencil Tutorial to share with you!

I'm so excited to share my first tutorial with you!

Last week I posted photos of 4 cards that I made using the Parisian Damask Decor Stencil and I'd like to show you how it's made. It's quick and easy and is a fun way to make 4 cards in a flash.

Here is my second set of cards made using the same stencil and colors, but I changed the words set and accessories. I came out with a totally different look!

Decor Stencils work great with Textured Paper too!

Here's another idea for the Decor Stencils, my Create journal for Inspiration.

First, I covered an ordinary school journal with the fabulous To the Nines Designer Specialty Paper. This particular paper is Textured and the colors are Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow. There are other prints in the package that also have Sahara Sand and Always Artichoke, but not shown here.

This is my favorite paper to use for those "manly" cards we all need occasionally, but I decide to make my new inspiration journal with it.

I use an Inspiration journal to jot down thoughts for upcoming projects and classes and any other ideas that I have. That way, they are all in the same place and I can refer to them easily. You just might want to try making one for yourself.

Back to the stenciling!
I place the "Kind Thoughts Flourish"  Decor Stencil on the journal and used Painter's tape to hold it in place. I then used a Stencil brush dipped into Whisper White Craft ink refill for the design.

I also highlighted parts of the design with my White Gel Pen and used On Board Chipboard letters for the word "create". Here's a close up of the stencil part of the journal.

I used a thin coating of the White Craft ink on the paper because I wanted a sort of aged look to it.

Decor Stencil Idea on Designer Paper

Here is a box that I made by stenciling right onto the Bella Bleu Designer Paper. Isn't it pretty?

I kept the box simple so as not to take away from the stenciling. I traced the lid of the box, cut it out and stenciled using the Kind Thoughts Flourish stencil using Not Quite Navy ink with a dauber.

I added a strip of another Bella Bleu print paper around the bottom of the box and put Pacific Point ribbon around the edge.

Here is a close up view of the top of the box. I made this in about 15 minutes, it's so easy!

Decor Stencils ~ 1 stencil into 4 cards!

 
I was asked to demonstrate the Decor Stencils at a meeting this weekend and had never used them. I bought one, but never took it out of the package and played with it.

You know how that goes I'm sure!

Anyway, when I started working with the Stencils I just couldn't stop!

Here's my fun discovery! You can make 4 cards quickly using this stencil, called Parisian Damask.

The

se Stencils are so versatile and easy to use! These cards were done with Stampin' Up's Classic Pads, Sponges and a Dauber and I'll be posting a tutorial shortly.

I made several items, but only a few are shown here, and I have lots more on my workbench  waiting for the finishing touches.
