Beveled Windowpane Tutorial and Idea

I know, I know, I promised a tutorial on the Beveled Windowpanes, but I've just been way too busy with classes, taxes and life that I haven't had a chance to do the photographs, so here's what I'm gonna do.

Since I'm in create mode for my upcoming classes, and some challenges too, I'm going to design with the Beveled Windowpanes in mind and do the tutorial for the 5 different ways to attach them as I go.

It may be a couple of days before they are all here, but here's a start!

I made this card for Create with Connie & Mary's Inspiration Challenge.

The inspiration was a gorgeous cake that was blue, yellow and cream with lots of stripes, bows and swirls. Here's my idea:

 

And here's the Beveled Windowpane Tutorial ~

I have found 5 different methods to using these Beveled Windowpanes

    ~ I call this the Ribbon Hanger ~

First stamp your word and mount as you choose

I used my Small, Large and Scallop Oval Punches

Put ribbons through the ribbon slots on the Beveled Windowpane

Here I chose Very Vanilla Satin, using a 4" length for both, but yours will depend on where your word lays on your project

Second, mount your word piece on your project as shown

Lay your windowpane over the word and put ribbon over top of card

Tape ribbon to back of card ~ I use mono adhesive

Tie the bottom ribbons as shown ~ I chose 1/8" Taffeta in Very Vanilla

Now flip the window off the card, it'll make sense with the next photo

 

Place a Mini Glue Dot on the ribbon to hold in place 

I like to use my Paper Piercing Tool as you see here

 

Now put it over the word, pull ribbons, and push on the glue dot to hold in place and

You're done!

Beveled Windowpane fit for a Queen!

Don't you know someone who deserves to be a Queen?

I created this card using a lot of my favorite things.

Two of my favorite colors, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede, two of my favorite sets, You're a Gem and Clearly for You (both from the Occasions Mini), my favorite Big Shot product, Finial Press Impressions Folder and two of my favorite embellishments, Pearls and Beveled Windowpanes.

 

 

Here's what I used:

Stamps ~ You're a Gem, Clearly for You and Bella Toile

Card Stock ~ Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla

Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake

Punches ~ Eyelet Border, Ovals, Scallop Oval, 1" Circle, and Ticket Corner

Big Shot with Finial Press Impressions Embossing Folder

Embellishments ~  Pearls, Beveled Windowpane, Vintage Tag, & Cherry Cobbler ribbon

 

Celebrations Cupcakes with Glitter on the Windowpane

Like I've said before, you've just gotta get this Build a Cupcake punch, . . . . that is if you didn't already. It's so fun to use!

Here I've used it with the Celebrations Designer Paper and a Beveled Windowpane.

I kept the White Buttercream frosting and added little candles to each one. Yes, that's part of the punch too. A little tricky to get the flame on the candle, but I used my Tombow glue and tweezers.

For the glittered window, I put Sticky Strip on the edges of the Windowpane, mitering it at the corners, and then pressed the sides into my Baja Breeze Glass Glitter.

I held the Windowpane in place with 1/8" Real Red Taffeta ribbon and added a bit of Marina Mist ribbon just underneath to ground it.

Oh! The tiny words, Make a Wish? They are part of one of the Take a Spin stamp images. I used the words on the square image. You can find this great set on page #10 of the Occasions Mini along with the Spinner Hands too.

Sweet Stitches Projects

I bought this cute Designer paper, Sweet Stitches, a while ago and hadn't used it so I thought maybe I needed to. While I was working on my Beveled Windowpane projects, I thought perhaps the time had come, so here you go!

I used the print paper that has all of these cute little "ads" about buttons, pearls, etc and trimmed them out and mounted them. I used the Chic Boutique stamp set for the dress form and words, and the Teahouse background stamp.

For accents, I added Pearls, Buttons and Brads, along with a Beveled Windowpane.

Check out the close up for the windowpane and my pearl necklace ~

 

 

Here is another proiject I made, a Petal Cone Gift Box

I used my Big Shot and the Petal Cone die and cut the cone out of Marina Mist card stock.

I traced the Petal Cone to figure out the side pieces and cut in about 1/4" using the Sew Sweet Designer paper.

I also used my Scallop Circle #2 die for the large scallop, using Melon Mambo card stock.

The Marina Mist scallop is from the Petal Cone die, place them side by side.

The "4 you" image is from the stamp set, You're a Gem, which is in the Occasions Mini catalog. I used my circle punches for the word and the Daffodil Delight mount piece, and mounted them to the center of the Scallop circle piece. I used my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch with the Sew Sweet paper and Melon Mambo card stock

I put 1/4" Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon through the ribbon slots on both sides of the Beveled Windowpane and attached them to the back of the Marina scallop circle using Sticky Strip.

Now for the top!

 

Here I punched the holes for the Melon Mambo PomPom trim using my CropaDile.

I then slipped White 1/8" Taffeta ribbon through the two Daffodil Delight Big Buttons and attached them using Stick Strip.

That's it! So (or should I say SEW) much fun!

Beveled Windowpane with a BEE!

Thank you for your patience in getting a tutorial out for the Beveled Windowpanes, but things have been flying around here and now I've got my teenage home for Spring Break too.

Tessa's fabulous, she's a social kid and loves shopping so I'll be taking some time this week to shop with her and will be running her around to hang with friends, but the Windowpane tutorial is almost finished. . . I promise. I'll do my dangdest to get it on by tonight.

Here is another card made with the Nature Walk stamp set and coordinating paper, Botanical Gazette.

I loved keeping this card simple, but did use 5 different punches and 2 ribbons.

 

 

Beveled Window Angel

Here is yet another of the cards I made for m Beveled Windowpane demonstration. If you haven't tried these fun embellishements yet, order a package today and get stampin'!

I used the Clearly for You stamp set, from the Occasions Mini, for the Angel, Flower and Amour with the En Francais background stamp. On the upper half I used my Color Spritzer with a Soft Sueded Marker and used a piece of Elegant Soiree Designer paper on the bottom.

I added the small Beveled Window pane using Baja Breeze Seam Binding with Chantilly Crochet Trim and Linen Thread and added a Trinket Key too.

This card used lots of punches: The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Scallop Edge Border, Curly Label, Modern Lable, and the Small Heart.

Baby Blossoms & Beveled Windowpane

Yes, I'm still lovin' the Baby Blossoms set in the Occasions Mini and am hoping like heck that it lands a space in the new Idea Book & Catalog that comes out in July.

Speaking of the Occasions Mini, I also used the Rosettes, the Beveled Windowpanes and the stamp set You're a Gem from it too. There are so many things in this mini that I like and am crossing my fingers that they all get in the new catalog.

 

Here's what I used:

Card stock ~ Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and Perfect Plum

Stamp pads ~ Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive

Stamp Set ~ Baby Blossoms and You're a Gem

Ribbons ~ Pretty in Pink 3/8" Taffeta, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta & Chantilly Crochet trim

Embellishments ~ Beveled Windowpane and Rosettes

The distressed look? I got it by taking my Perfect Plum pad directly to the card stock. It's easy!

Medallion Medley ~ All Blinged Up!

These cards are already preprinted and embossed and are a quick way to send a card, but if you're like me, you just have to add something else to it too!

Butterfly under Glass

 

I made this card using the Nature Walk stamp set and Botanical Gazette Designer paper from the Occasions Mini. The butterfly was stamped on Vellum card stock so that the paper could show through a bit and to soften up the colors, I flipped it over.

I used Rich Razzleberry Taffeta ribbon to hold the Beveled Windowpane in place and added a bit of Old Olive Taffeta too.

Pretty, isn't it?

 

 

Beveled Window Bliss

Here is another of the cards I made using the Beveled Windowpanes. I used the Sale-a-Bration set "Bliss" that you can get FREE until the end of the month.

I made this card using Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Basic Black card stock and ink. I also used a bit of the First Edition Designer Paper, my Curly Label punch, Crumb Cake Seam Binding and Linen Thread.

I hope it gives you some Bliss-ful inspiration!

Beveled Windowpane Ideas

I had the opportunity to share lots of my ideas using the Beveled Windowpanes this Saturday when I demonstrated at my upline Sandy Hancock's meeting and wanted to share a couple of them with you today.

I was asked to do a tutorial on how to attach these fun embellishments and will do so later this week. Sorry, but I have a special Go Getter workshop tonight, a Collage Class on Wednesday and my Technique Club on Friday, so I'm a tad busy, but I appreciate your patience.

Here is one I made using the stamp set "Clearly for You" from the Occasions Mini. You can find it on page #28 in the mini along with the Beveled Windowpanes.

For this card I used Rich Razzleberry, Always Artichoke and Certainly Celery with the Clearly for You and You're a Gem stamp sets from the Occasions Mini along with the French Filigree background stamp.

This card uses the Artistic Etchings and You're a Gem stamp sets with Concord Crush and Pretty in Pinkand the Lap of Luxury Designer Paper.

I'll add the details and close ups tomorrow.

We made this card at my Sale-a-Bration Occasions class last week using items from both the Sale-a-Bration Mini and the Occasions Mini. It's a great way to use what you buy and also use what you get FREE!

From the Occasions Mini, I used the Framed Tulip Impressions Folder iwth my Big Shot and the largest of the Beveled Windowpanes.

To get the triple color on the stamp, just use the brush end of the Stampin' Write Markers in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point and apply the color directly to the stamp horizontally and press it onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Try it!
